There are a lot of inconvenient things in life that we must learn to accept. However, we at Kenner Dental Group believe having a smile you don’t love isn’t one of them. This is why we offer our clients a variety of smile-enhancing treatments, such as our wildly popular porcelain veneers. Dr. William Kenner has many years of experience transforming smiles using porcelain veneers, and your smile could be our next success story!
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, custom-made shells covering the front surface area of one or more teeth. These devices are often used to fix a variety of minor cosmetic issues, such as gaps, chips, discoloration, and even misshapen teeth. Since they are made using porcelain, these veneers have the translucent quality of natural teeth, creating a vibrant and symmetrical smile you’ll absolutely love.
The ideal candidate for veneers is someone in good oral health who wishes to correct a few cosmetic flaws instead of undergoing more intensive corrective treatments such as braces or caps. However, if you’re dealing with oral health problems such as gum disease, tooth decay, or bruxism, it’s necessary that we first address those concerns.
Dr. Kenner will evaluate your oral health and discuss your budget, goals, and expectations. Depending on your situation, he may also offer alternatives such as clear aligners or composite bonding.
Your first visit will include an in-depth evaluation, where Dr. Kenner will discuss your desired results and take dental impressions. From there, he will remove a thin layer of tooth enamel to prepare the tooth or teeth for veneer placement.
We send your impressions to our lab, where they will design your custom porcelain veneers. In the meantime, you’ll receive temporary veneers until your final veneers are ready. The last step involves Dr. Kenner bonding your permanent veneers after making all the necessary adjustments to ensure your new smile looks how it should.
The veneer process usually requires about two or three visits. For example, if it’s three visits, your first visit would be consultation and treatment planning. The second would involve preparing your tooth and getting dental impressions. The final visit is where Dr. Kenner bonds and makes adjustments. Custom designs and other treatments may also extend your treatment timeline.
Porcelain veneers usually last anywhere from 10 to 15 years. Their durability usually depends on factors such as the complexity of the treatment and the number of teeth being treated.
